Eco Council
Broughshane Primary School Eco-Council are a group of children appointed by their peers to promote environmental issues arising in our school environment. These include litter concerns, planting, recycling, outside spaces, energy saving and the local community. Each member is a representative for their classmates and is responsible for sharing their views and ideas about any environmental matters. They also take a leading role in eco assemblies, litter hunts, planting, energy conservation and implementation of innovative ideas.
In September 2014 Broughshane Primary School was awarded a grant of £10000 to build an outside learning area from The Big Lottery Fund. Plans were drawn up for the plot of land beside Wilson House and the firm Timbertots were contracted to complete the project. Work began in February 2015.
